Macho, macho, fern...

A beautiful addition to any Florida garden, Macho Fern (or Giant Sword Fern) grows well in partial sun to full shade. It doesn't seem to mind the acidic soil under my Oak trees all that much either. I find myself spreading it all around my garden. It grows vigorously and stays green and lush most of the year. Here in Central Florida, we are lucky to have mild winters and without a major freeze, my fern has taken over.

So, if you are in the market for an easy-care plant, this might be the one for your next garden project. Spread it around and watch it make your yard into a lush botanical oasis.
